IN-HOME OCCUPATIONAL & FEEDING THERAPY TO SUPPORT PARENTS & CAREGIVERS

I started The Feeding Team because I got several calls, texts and emails from friends, family, and neighbors asking for help with feeding their babies and children. I realized there is a great need for in-home feeding therapy from birth to age one and even beyond. My mission is to provide families with a therapeutic approach to feeding that is engaging, collaborative, thorough and educational. The Feeding Team was founded to be an extension of your clinical team and to treat the WHOLE child.

What does an occupational therapist do with a baby?

For babies, occupational therapy helps with fine motor, cognition, reflexes, vision and sensory processing skills. The skills they need to explore their world and learn. Often times as parents, we feel the need to be perfect. It is our mission to provide for our little ones. If something isn't going well, we often times feel like a failure. Well, let me tell you, it takes a village and you are not a failure. It is ok to ask for help.

I am here to help you. Whether your child is 3 days old and newly home from the hospital, 3 weeks old or 3 months, I can help navigate and problem solve most feeding issues that arise. Let's discuss positioning, reflux, bottles, flowrate (things parents AREN'T supposed to know about!!). Occupational therapists that specialize in feeding have the training to understand the baby's cues and discomfort.

When do I start feeding my baby solids? What do I feed my 6-12 month old?

The transition of feeding milestones from age 6 months and beyond can be very unnerving. What age do I start feeding my little one? How do I know what to feed them? What is baby led weaning? Let me help you navigate this process with ease. Let's help your little one be an adventurous eater at a young age.
